Fliss joined the Foundation in October 2024 as our Research Operations and Policy Manager.
Fliss studied Medical Biochemistry at the University of Leicester, spending a year in Heidelberg studying yeast intramembrane proteases. Following an internship at Cancer Research UK, she moved to the Wellcome Trust as a Grants Adviser. During this time, she also studied a part-time Masters in Bio-Business at Birkbeck, University of London, covering the theory and practice of entrepreneurship in the bioscience sector.
She then held further research funding management roles at Prostate Cancer UK and Cancer Research UK.
In her spare time, Fliss enjoys running, reading, and baking (although not at the same time). She also likes learning about Japanese culture, including eating Japanese food.
