Deborah has a long career in charity fundraising, having worked for Age Concern, Diabetes UK, Moorfields Eye Charity and St Martin’s in the Fields Charity. Deborah has a master's degree in Race, Ethnicity and Globalisation from Birkbeck, University of London.
Deborah is a member of her local Baptist church and enjoys gardening, running, attending Pilates classes and taking cruises with her husband.
