What we do
We exist to advance medical research, improve human health and change people’s lives. You can help us do it.
Mental health
Many mental health problems arise during adolescence, which is also a period when the brain undergoes fundamental reorganisation.
Dr Hauser’s research investigates how aberrant computations in the brain can lead to dysfunctional cognitive patterns and give rise to psychiatric disorders during adolescence. He combines neuroimaging, computational modelling and clinical studies to try to establish whether changes in neural pathways are connected to mental health problems.
Dr Hauser will use the Emerging Leaders prize funding to investigate how brain and cognitive functions develop during adolescence and how the processes can go awry and lead to mental health problems.
We fund and support the most promising health research wherever we discover great opportunities that are not being pursued. We use our donations responsibly and ensure we make the greatest impact where it is most needed.
