Marianne and five fearless friends set themselves an enormous challenge to swim the English Channel.

Research into many physical illnesses have had huge success- if we could concentrate some effort on mental illness we could reap benefits here too, which is why we chose to support the Foundation's mental health research.

Wind and waves, cold (no wetsuits allowed), night-swimming, jellyfish, strong currents and sea-sickness were all hurdles to be overcome.

In the early hours of 25th September 2017, Team Six-Pack set off from English shores with their sights set on the other side of the English channel and after a gruelling 16 hrs 16 minutes arrived on French shores!

Marianne's team raised a fantastic £1,666 for research into mental health and eating disorders.

Thank you to Marianne and her team for taking on such an incredible feat and raising vital funds!
