About the research
ADHD begins in childhood, and although it is now understood to persist into adulthood for many people, the condition remains under-recognised in adults in the UK. Younger adults with ADHD face significant challenges, including mental and physical health issues, difficulties accessing healthcare, and earlier mortality. However, less is known about how ADHD affects adults aged 50 and older, leaving their needs poorly understood and unmet. Dr Amber John aims to better understand the experiences of people aged 50+ with ADHD to improve their health and wellbeing.
