Undeterred by the Edinburgh drizzle, Zsofia Blair conquered the city's half marathon, all in the name of medical research. She tells us what inspired her to support the Foundation.

What motivated you to support the Foundation?

"I chose to support the Foundation during intercalation from my medical degree at the University of Edinburgh. My dissertation involved studying aspects of adolescent mental health, which I found out that Foundation was focusing on funding at the time, so that really resonated with me. This, along with the fact that it is such a great cause."

What did you enjoy most about the day?

"I really enjoyed running the half marathon - even the last couple of miles which were the hardest - because every step of the way you're surrounded by other people running along with you! My favourite parts were probably when there were little groups at the side of the road to support the runners with music, funny signs/banners and cheers, all of which really went a long way to provide another little surge of energy and boost of motivation to keep me going!

"Overall I had a really great experience. I didn’t expect to enjoy the running part as much as I did, but now I definitely won’t rule out doing another half marathon in the future.”
